Project JKF-1: The Bull In The Basement Book Cover

This book cover piece is for a John Fulton short story called “The Bull In The Basement”.

For this one I experimented with a major change in my workflow, namely, I skipped the line drawing phase and went straight into painting shapes.

On this occasion shape painting probably increased my speed by about 30%.  Sounds too good to be true.  Let’s see if it works again on the next piece!

Tried out a glazing technique where I applied acrylic paint in many translucent layers.

Over a year ago I was asked to do a painting during a church service. I failed to finish during the service so finished it off over the next year or so. Acrylics on canvas 30inches x 24inches.
