I’ve been studying the incredible art of Fenghua Zhong. One of the things that I’ve learned is that he uses multiple light sources in his scenes.
Here’s a female face study where I’ve attempted multiple light sources. A warmer light coming in from the left of the picture with a cooler light coming in from the right.
More female face practice. Here I’ve had a go at painting Arwen from Lord Of The Rings.
I moved on from sketching to a full digital painting.
This has also been an opportunity for me to design another one of my digital comic characters: Yanadia. She doesn’t feature in the current project but will appear in a future instalment.
Here are the female faces from the last 2 nights. I’ve been experimenting with different face shapes. I like the chin on the last one.
